On the second episode of College Meals, I introduce to you Chickghetti. It’s quite a peculiar but weirdly catchy name. Chickghetti is simply a chicken dish that uses spaghetti sauce as its, well, sauce. It’s quite different since usually we use tomato sauce for these type of dishes. Chickghetti would remind you of Afritada and spaghetti.
How did I come up with this meal? I was starving one afternoon. When I checked the freezer, there was chicken left. On the pantry, there was also left over spaghetti left from the time I cooked Tuna Spaghetti. Being the adventurous (only in food) cook that I am, I decided that the combination will work.
Ingredients:
3 cloves of garlic
half an onion
chicken
spaghetti sauce
patis
can of peas
salt and pepper
Cooking Instructions
1. In a heated pan with heated oil, fry your sliced chicken that was seasoned with salt. Add more oil than usual to avoid the chicken sticking to the pan or better yet use a non-stick pan.
2. While the chicken meat is frying, mince the garlic and onions. Again, the amount of each depends on your taste.
3. When your chicken is about cooked, remove the cooking oil. Only leave a small amount to sauté your minced garlic and onion.
4. Add the spaghetti sauce and about three tablespoon of patis. Mix it all together thoroughly.
5. Add the peas five minutes after.
6. Season it with pepper (if you feel like it).

OMG! Si Amah sa gitna???? The hair!!!! Nagpastraight?
1. It’s scary how I could stay in bed all day with just my computer to keep me busy. It’s not healthy!
2. Lately I’ve been asking my self this a lot: Why did I sign up for this? I seriously want to quit from the position already. I just don’t know how to bring myself back up.
3. Last night, I found this awesome online store: casemestore.com. It sells affordable but very cutesy patootsy cases for phones and Macs. I ordered a case and a keyboard skin for Wild Salmon. I got it at such a bargain. My total was roughly Php 1,200 for both items! If I bought them anywhere else it would amount to 4k!
4. I think my most popular post in Tumblr is my audio post of the song Let Her Go by Passenger. It’s such a great song to listen to. Reminds me a bit of Snow Patrol.
5. Who knows of any good travel tours site? I’ve been planning for our Yolo trip. Tours are so pricy! Huhuhu
It was the best of times and the worst of times. Chos! I just adore that sentence by Charles Dickens. I actually downloaded the book so I can read the whole thing.
Yeah, last Thursday was my last ever first day of college. I only had two subjects and it started at 2:30. It was kind of good. Kind of only because I never have a completely good day—something always goes wrong.
I want to go through the subjects one by one ‘cause I’m a nerd like that.
BA 173 Consumer Behavior
This would be my first BA elective. Marketing is real interesting but also very intimidating. I decided that it was more interesting and I ended up enlisting in this elective. We already have our lesson on our first meeting. I love our teacher and I truly believe I’ll learn a lot from her. Basically, Consumer Behavior will teach us how to determine what marketing campaign works or fails. There’s more to it really like learning, duh, how your consumers behave, and with that, know what to offer them. We already have a deliverable (for next week) though. :( We need to research on local marketing campaigns that were successful and that flopped. Yeah, it’s kind of exciting!
Bio 1
I came in late for this class. It was a big class (almost 100 students cramped in this little room). I can’t find an available seat and the professor already started his lecture! Worse is that my super helpful classmates just stared at me like I’m some of kind of fish out of water. A minute later, I found a seat right in the middle. The professor was trying hard to be funny but I think he’s gonna be a good one. I felt depressed after leaving the class though. It was like I’ve never taken a Bio class ever in my life! I thought I was not alone, but most of my classmates know the recitation questions! I mean who the hell knows the exact detail of the experiment that disproved the Abiogenesis theory of origin?! I didn’t even know the definition of species when I was called for recitation! I’m hopeless! But I’m looking relearn Biology. I was actually quite excited absorbing all of those new knowledge.
Those were my only subjects for the first day. The second day was a bit more stressful and super sweaty! But it was fun, nonetheless.
PI 100
UP is known for it’s crazy professors! I’ve met a handful of them and let me say they can be sadistic, mean, and downright evil! PI 100 is my first class on TTH and it is on 8:30. It was five minutes past 8:30 and the professor was not yet there. But there was a note (which was a clue pala that will tell us where our professor is) written on the board. It says: Hanapin ang supremong may dalang gitara. None of us knew what it meant so we decided to stick together to find our missing prof. Good thing we didn’t have to look for long because he was only in the acad oval situated in front of a tarpolin of Bonifacio holding a guitar.
The next few minutes was crazy! There were about fifteen people wanting to prerog for the class. Of course, the prof wasn’t going to accept them that easily. To cut the story short. Our prof made them sing, dance, race around the oval, tell the capital cities of some countries and kung ano ano pa. Good thing the effort of the prerog-ing students paid off, all of them ended up getting the class. The whole time I was just thankful that I wasn’t one of them.
Psych 101
I’m super excited for this class since I’ve always wanted to learn more about Psychology. And I believe this class complements my BA 173 class so well. The teacher was funny and promising. Our requirements made me giddy too. I’m so looking forward to making my time line and dream journal! I feel like a high schooler all over again.
BA 129
This might be the toughest class I’d be having this semester. There will be no case reporting, exams or quizzes for this class, except by the end of the semester we need to come up of a business product/service with full on business plan, marketing plan, prototype etc. On October, we’ll have an Entrep Week to showcase our finish products.
This class will probably be the most relevant for my future if I want to be an entrepreneur. I’ve had some experience with making business plans and the like (from CE), but I don’t think that experience will help me enough. But let’s hope for the better. InshaAllah.
I have one more class which is BA 106, but we only meet on Wednesdays. I hope that one would not be a pain in the ass. I’m looking forward for this semester. I hope all things fare well.
There are two people you’ll meet in your life. One will run a finger down the index of who you are and jump straight to the parts of you that peak their interest. The other will take his or her time reading through every one of your chapters and maybe fold corners of you that inspired them most. You will meet these two people; it is a given. It is the third that you’ll never see coming. That one person who not only finishes your sentences, but keeps the book.

This is song is just so-
Today is enrolment day for graduating students like me. I only took half a day to enrol. Wow! That’s a new record. I expected to take a lot more time since I was planning to prerog a BA subject to have 21 units in total. But boohoo, the admin didn’t grant me my overloading request. So, I’m stuck with 18 units.
The point of that intro is on the third sentence. I thought I would take a long time to enrol so I borrowed my sister’s iPad. I ended up not using it.
I got home at around 12 nn then Kahsey too. She was looking for her IPad (that’s what I thought) so I went to my room to bring it down to her. When I checked my bag, it wasn’t there! Automatically my brain went to panic mode. I didn’t take it out of my bag the whole time, it might have been stolen while I was commuting. That was my first thought! Then I remember I am a forgetful person (so much it can be a sign of a mental disorder please no) so I might have misplaced it around the apartment. By this time I was checking under my pillows and under the bed for the freaking apple product.
Until I gave up. I didn’t want to go down and see Kahsey yet! I was imagining how the whole scene of me telling her I lost her IPad would pan out—it wasn’t pretty. I spent some minutes sitting on the floor of my room, thinking how much money I should save to replace the missing IPad.
After some time, I went down ready for a whole lot of scolding when I saw the rectangular product on her lap! I was like jumping around, cursing the heavens (chos not really). It was with her all along while I was in my room as if filming an episode of MMK! Jirita Jackson!
Yeah, I needed to write that down ‘cause the whole time I was in panic mode, I was wishing I had Wild Salmon with me so I could write down my feelings.
I don’t want to be
your entire world, no.
I would be happy
just to be your morning coffee,
your hanging car keys,
your wallet.
Something seemingly
insignificant,
but if lost throws off
your entire day.
